Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
Because receiving the email about this issue actually reminded me I'd meant to write to the Council about another crossing I recently used that isn't safe, so I know what it feels like to feel that the traffic is coming too fast to cross safely, and it's really no joke, even at 50km/h, let alone what that must feel like at 80-km/h!!! 60 at least is better than 80. Even 50 is dangerous. So yes, I absolutely think the Council should do what it is proposing and reduce the speed limit even by 20km/h.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
I think it should be marked as clearly as possible for drivers, with a really good visually contrasting approach, including a speed inhibitor bump and plenty of signage warning there is a crossing there.
How do you travel through the area?
I don't use this road and am not likely to, but I'm a ratepayer who recently had an uncomfortable experience at another crossing where the speed limit was only 50km/h. I think good crossings are an easy way to save lives and unnecessary harm, so I wanted to give feedback.
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?

Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
