Submission details

Submission ID 8361
Name Edgar Wilson
Date 27 February 2026
Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
The distance from the Motorway round about to Hutchinson Rd roundabout is minimal and having a pedestrian crossing with lights provides a suitable speed for drivers exiting a 100km and what is likely in time to be 110km motorway.
Note - not part of the submission but changing the name of the Te Awa Lakes access road to Te Awa Lakes Road makes more sense!
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
I do not support a raised pedestrian crossing. Keep the crossing simple for vehicles and pedestrians/ cyclists.
Coming off the expressway going south the vegetation looking back on the old South Road creates a blind spot for drivers looking to their right before entering the round about.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive, Bike/Scooter
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
It's a local road close to my house, Travelling north bound/south bound
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
