Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
I’m against reducing this to 60km/h, but because you’re putting in a signalised crossing within a 460m run or road, leaving it at 80km/h would make no sense. For this reason I agree with 60km/h.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
You need to have a think about the location of the signalised crossing, people heading for the state highway will be coming down te Rapa road, onto the island at BP, then off the island heading toward the state highway and they immediately have to stop at the signalised crossing. If someone fails to stop as they come off the island and fail to see a person crissing, there could be a tragedy.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
Travelling north bound/south bound, Travelling to/from work, For recreation i.e. cycling/bike track
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
