Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
I think this is reasonable as the speed on this short piece of road between the roundabouts wouldn’t go much above 60km/h anyway. Traffic is already stopping and starting at the roundabouts/interchange so it isn’t a confusing, unnatural speed chance. Not like the change on Wairere Drive near Karewa Place, which I didn’t support lowering.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
None. Though why there needs to be a signalised crossing, I cannot understand. Perhaps there is planned development in the slither of land between Te Rapa Rd and the Expressway, but otherwise it’s going to be a crossing to almost nowhere.
