| Which option do you prefer? |
Option 2: Retain the current 80km/h speed limit, do not change speed limit
|
| Please tell us why? |
The volume of pedestrian traffic is currently very low and is likely to stay that way as there is nothing for them to see and do on the south side of Te Rapa Road. The only exception is the bus stop for those travelling north of Hamilton. This bus travel will probably remain very low.
The buses could easily be re-routed via the current service centre and future site development. This would save tax / rate payers $$$. All the shops and facilities will be provided in the development site and service centre. Those going for a walk / excercise are more likely to use the Te Awa river trail. |
| Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change? |
Move the bus stop on the south side of te Rapa road to Hutchinson rd and keep the traffic flowing it is a major link road. Then don't need to change the speed limit.
