Name Rachel Wymer

Which option do you prefer?
Option 2: Retain the current 80km/h speed limit, do not change speed limit
Please tell us why?
The volume of vehicle traffic using that road vs the volume of pedestrians means that the speed limit should be in favour of vehicle traffic flow given out of a 24 hour period most of the time, the crossing won't be used by pedestrians. Reducing the speed limit to 60 km/hr for a small number of pedestrians using that crossing is unnecessary. There are other pedestrian crossings in 80km/hr zones such as on Wairere Drive that work fine and I don't see this one being any different.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
I don't support the change. I would suggest keeping plantings in the area under control to ensure pedestrians can be seen by vehicle traffic. Plantings create hazards in other areas of Hamilton where visibility is reduced.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive, Bike/Scooter
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
It's a local road close to my house, Travelling north bound/south bound, For recreation i.e. cycling/bike track
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
