Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
It's a lot safer for both pedestrians and drivers turning right from Hutchinson Rd onto Te Rapa Rd. As a driver turning right at that roundabout often, and needing to take the left lane to head south on the motorway at the next roundabout, cars heading north on Te Rapa Rd will continue through the roundabout at 80 kmh as you take the right turning lane. This means they speed up on the inside of you as you're needing to turn left into the inside lane to make the next roundabout. Either that, or cars will be tailgating you as soon as you exit the roundabout, as you try to get up to speed. The speed difference is unsafe. For such a short stretch of road, these scenarios are dangerous
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
Maybe some lane painting differences. Maybe both lanes from Hutchinson can turn right, taking the lane they need based on the direction they need to go at the next roundabout.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
Travelling north bound/south bound, Travelling to/from work
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
