Which option do you prefer?
Option 2: Retain the current 80km/h speed limit, do not change speed limit
Please tell us why?
This section of road is wide and designed to safely have higher traffic speeds. Reducing the speed limit will slow traffic flow on that area of the road. No evidence that anyone has had severe accidents that I recall around that area. It will also confuse non locals if the rest of te rapa road is 60 or 80. As long as the traffic lights give enough time for the car to slow from 80 there shouldn’t be an issue and everyone stays happy. A kind reminder that slowing traffic speeds causes frustrated drivers and a more likely chance of drivers taking risks
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
As I do not support reducing the speed limit on Te Rapa Road, I do not believe additional physical changes are necessary. The road already appears suitably designed for the current 80 km/h limit and functions well.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive, Walk
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
Travelling north bound/south bound, Travelling to/from work
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
