Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: Reduce the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h
Please tell us why?
To make it a safe for people, especially families and young children. Young kids running into the road isn't unheard of or trying to cross too early, and combined with a high speed limit its recipe for disaster. 80 made sense when it was mostly rural, 60 makes sense now.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
I think raising the crossing, adding cycle lanes, planting trees, hopefully eventually adding footpaths that go all the way to te rapa etc will help drivers naturally drive slower, make it more pleasant for families in the area (not trapped to come and go by car) and create a high value area that is pleasant to be in.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive, Bike/Scooter, Walk
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
Travelling north bound/south bound, For recreation i.e. cycling/bike track
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
