Name Steve McConnell
Date 24 March 2026
Which option do you prefer?
Option 2: Retain the current 80km/h speed limit, do not change speed limit
Please tell us why?
The speed drop is unnecessary, there is already a lot happening on that piece of road which hasn't justified a speed limit change, why should a residential area off a side road make a difference.
Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change?
Put a proper cycle lane or path along the roadside, there are cycle paths all around the area but nothing in that stretch of road.
Prune the planting around the roundabouts, the overgrown plants are creating blind spots.
How do you travel through the area?
Drive, Bike/Scooter
What do you use Te Rapa Road north for?
Travelling north bound/south bound, For recreation i.e. cycling/bike track
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
