| Which option do you prefer? |
Option 2: Retain the current 80km/h speed limit, do not change speed limit
|
| Please tell us why? |
The road is built to handle the higher speed and the frequency of which people will be using the new signalised crossing will be infrequent. The speed should not be reduced for the road for the potential of crossing. There will be a signal therefore the action and behaviour of pedestrians will be the same whether the speed is 60km/h or 80km/h. The safety of stopping will be controlled by the lights.
|
| Do you think any other physical changes are required to support the proposed speed limit change? |
Please do not also add a speed hump on the crossing. There is a dairy factory near the roundabout and dozens of tankers pass through there daily.
