| Do you support Council’s proposal to make minor amendments to the Trading in Public Places Bylaw? |
I support option 1: continue the bylaw with proposed amendments
|
| Please tell us the reasons for your response. |
I completely support Option 1. I believe that encouraging more interaction in public spaces will help keep the community connected, while also creating new opportunities for networking, creativity, and local development.
Street performers using amplification, for example, can create a cozy and distinctive atmosphere in the city, while also giving musicians, dancers, actors, and painters more opportunities to share their work directly with the community, without intermediaries. Public space is, and has always been, one of the most important ways we connect with society. A more interactive public environment would help build a stronger sense of community. It would not only add colour and character to everyday human interaction, but also give the city a more unique and recognizable identity. |
