IAWAI Water Services Strategy

I am very concerned at this whole new plan - a new CCO, which has a setup which could be very difficult for the public to challenge in the future if for some reason the control of the water could be sold off to someone else. NZ has a history of doing this. The possibility of future ownership by an overseas corporation of our water assets is very concerning.
This whole new plan lacks transparency in different areas - who controls it - it is another bureaucracy, a govt model, and decisions get made differently and away from the public - me.
Who is going to pay for the new entities' borrowing? They can borrow as much as they want but we pay for it. This is not acceptable, not real, and needs to be looked at very thoroughly before any contract at all is signed.
The approval of this from central government should never have been allowed - passing on something that the citizens cannot afford. Rates, cost of living, now fuel costs mean that this is not something that should go ahead at all. It cannot be accepted as it is not possible for the public to be able to afford such costs.
There are lots of issues with this new model but I won't even touch on them as the whole plan is unrealistic and cannot succeed.
