| 1. Do you have any feedback on the IAWAI Water Services Strategy? |
The information provided is highly complex and difficult to comprehend. Had public consultations been conducted over the past month at various venues across Hamilton, residents and ratepayers—the owners of the infrastructure—would have gained a clearer understanding of the assets being transferred.
As I see it the new water entity is: a shift of power away from the public and into the hands of a professional-managerial class. “...fundamentally it’s about control... The losers will be our poorest and most vulnerable residents.” I don't agree with it at all. |
