| 1. Do you have any feedback on the IAWAI Water Services Strategy? |
1. I would like to see the introduction of water meters come in earlier rather than later as charging by rateable property value is unfair on single or double households with no swimming pool or spa. They will in effect be subsidising larger families.
2. What safe guards have been put in place to ensure this new entity won’t be sold off to offshore companies? 3. How do the board and shareholders get voted on? Will this be via the same process as voting in mayors and councillors? 4. Will the process for reporting water leaks around the city follow the same process as now - ie contacting the local council or will there be a specific IAWAI contact number/Antenno facility set up? |
| 2a. Do you support a growth pays for growth approach for new residential and commercial developments, including the use of growth charges to help fund growth-related infrastructure and services? |
Yes
|
| Please provide comment. |
Agree that new developments should pay for the implementation of water infrastructure as the developers will be making a profit from the development
|
| 2b. In the current residential growth charges proposal secondary minor dwellings (i.e. granny flats) may be treated as ½ HUE. Do you support treating secondary minor dwellings as ½ HUE? If you have an alternative proposal, please explain. |
Partially support
|
| Please explain. |
Why only half as they will be using full water services if they are connected to both residential and waste water services, so why not full HUE?
|
| 3. How would you prefer IAWAI engage you? |
Letter / Flyer, E-newsletter, Surveys, Events (online or in person), Antenno app
|
| 4. Do you support IAWAI’s Significance and Engagement Policy? |
Partially support
|
| 5. Do you have any feedback on the Significance and Engagement Policy? |
I am not sure that I agree with IAWAI not having to legally consult with the public on important matters, such as budget, especially if it impacts on how much ratepayers and renters have to pay for water which is an essential requirement for life.
|
| 6. Do you support IAWAI'S Waiver Policy? |
Yes
|
| 7. Do you have any feedback on the the Waiver Policy? |
No
|
| Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation? |
No, these are my own personal views
