1. Do you have any feedback on the IAWAI Water Services Strategy?
First of all, I'm a bit confused about the area involved.
One map shows it includes Waipa and Waitomo. And then another map just shows HCC and WDC? So what is it?
Second, the strategy tries to tell a story that the water cost increases for residents will go up less than expected, but the graphs over ten years show a completely different story.
And the strategy doesn't address actually reserving money for future replacements. And it also doesn't address any usage behaviour changes and user expectations when water meters get installed.
2a. Do you support a growth pays for growth approach for new residential and commercial developments, including the use of growth charges to help fund growth-related infrastructure and services?
Yes
Please provide comment.
That should have happened in the first place. I think far too many exemptions have been grated to larger developers to NOT have to pay for ALL the required infrastructure.
2b. In the current residential growth charges proposal secondary minor dwellings (i.e. granny flats) may be treated as ½ HUE. Do you support treating secondary minor dwellings as ½ HUE? If you have an alternative proposal, please explain.
Partially support
Please explain.
I think most granny flats are built to free up space in an existing dwelling, so the water use will not go up anyway.
3. How would you prefer IAWAI engage you?
Website, E-newsletter
4. Do you support IAWAI’s Significance and Engagement Policy?
Partially support
5. Do you have any feedback on the Significance and Engagement Policy?
Only support it if this engagement doesn't result into having to pay for significant 'çonsultation' fees with engaged parties.
6. Do you support IAWAI'S Waiver Policy?
No
7. Do you have any feedback on the the Waiver Policy?
Usage is usage. There should be NO waivers.
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
I live in Waikato district, my town is
Hamilton
