1. Do you have any feedback on the IAWAI Water Services Strategy?
This strategy passes responsibility to the directors of a company which is loosely accountable to Hamilton city councillors and thence to the ratepayers. directors of such a company carry a liability much greater than is apparent with Council Staff or councillors. It will thus be easier to handle the process of notices of liability when and if things turn to custard.
2a. Do you support a growth pays for growth approach for new residential and commercial developments, including the use of growth charges to help fund growth-related infrastructure and services?
Partially support
2b. In the current residential growth charges proposal secondary minor dwellings (i.e. granny flats) may be treated as ½ HUE. Do you support treating secondary minor dwellings as ½ HUE? If you have an alternative proposal, please explain.
Partially support
3. How would you prefer IAWAI engage you?
Letter / Flyer, E-newsletter
4. Do you support IAWAI’s Significance and Engagement Policy?
Partially support
5. Do you have any feedback on the Significance and Engagement Policy?
It would appear that this policy does not differ greatly from current council consultation policy which is basically "i hear what you are saying but we are going to do it our way anyway." It is time to seriously consider the Gunning Principles of consultation used in the UK. I encourage the directors to acquaint themselves with this principle.
6. Do you support IAWAI'S Waiver Policy?
Partially support
7. Do you have any feedback on the the Waiver Policy?
there appears to be a lot of jargon attached. It would appear that the rates remission scheme for low income people does not apply to water rates.
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
