Hamilton’s dog owners are being invited to have their say on where Hamilton’s next fenced dog exercise area will be.

As part of its 10-Year Plan decisions in 2018, Hamilton City Council has allocated funding to the construction of a new fenced dog exercise area on a city park.

The Council’s Parks and Recreation Unit staff have identified three parks as suitable for the new for the new fenced dog exercise area.

The parks are:

  • Tauhara Park
  • Resthills Park
  • Innes Common.

The parks all include off-street parking and toilets, and are existing dog exercise areas.

The public engagement on this project has opened, and concludes on 3 April.

Members of the public can provide their feedback via an online portal at www.hamilton.govt.nz/newdogpark

The city’s registered dog owners will receive an invitation – via email or letter – to contribute directly to the selection of this park.

At the conclusion of the public engagement, staff will tabulate the feedback and confirm which park will be developed into a fenced dog exercise area.
