A drop-in session is taking place at Melville Skate Park this Thursday (11 April), to gain input on a planned improvement project for the park’s skate park and playground.
Improvement of the park’s aging skate and playground facilities is part of a wider programme of renewals work across the city, and the Council is combining two strands of work into one project at this site.
Thursday’s drop-in session is part of a community-led design approach, and gives park users a chance to have initial discussions with staff about preferences and opportunities to enhance the skate park area into a multi-use space. A concept design will be developed for the skate park and it will then be presented to the community for further feedback.
Thursday evening’s event runs from 4pm to 6pm is co-hosted by the skating advocacy group Htown Skate Project and Rich Landscapes, a company specialising in the design of skateparks.
