The Knights will be looking to go back-to-back in the Burger King Super Smash when they host the Grand Final at Seddon Park this Sunday.

It is a second consecutive home Grand Final for the men in pink after a solid campaign which saw them win seven of their 10 round-robin matches.

The Knights’ opponents for Sunday’s title-decider will be confirmed after Friday’s Elimination Final between the Auckland Aces and Central Stags at Eden Park Outer Oval.

Knights wicket-keeper-batsman, Tim Seifert, who was recently named player of the series in the BLACKCAPS T20I series with India, said he was happy to be returning to the Knights fold after international duty.

“I’m very excited to be back with the Knights and to be back in another Final,” says Seifert.

“It’s awesome that the Association has such depth that we can be missing players through international duty and others, who have come through the ND age-groups, can step in and perform well,” added Seifert about the squad that pushed the Knights into first-place in the Super Smash standings.

Another returning BLACKCAP, leg-spinner Ish Sodhi (pictured), is equally excited about Sunday’s Grand Final and rejoining his Knights teammates.

“I love playing for the Knights and Northern Districts.

“To have the opportunity to play in a Grand Final is fantastic, but to be able to play in one with guys you’ve played cricket with for nearly a decade makes it even better, and I’m really looking forward to Sunday,” says Sodhi.

The Burger King Super Smash Grand Final is at Seddon Park on Sunday, February 17 with the first ball to be bowled at 4.10pm. Tickets are available here: https://bit.ly/2Srs2IR
