Outstanding Hamiltonians are quietly achieving across our city and within our communities.

Healthcare advocates, parasport champions, youth leaders, and those preserving and sharing Māori heritage, are among those recognised at this year’s Civic Awards.

The Civic Awards acknowledge the tremendous and positive difference that community heroes make to Hamilton city, in the categories of health and wellbeing, arts and culture, sport and recreation, education and community.

Recipients for 2025 were selected by the City Honours Panel, with their recommendations ratified by Council on 18 September 2025.

Mayor Tim Macindoe said he was honoured to present the awards to outstanding Hamiltonians.

“The diversity of contributions and activities of each of our deserving recipients is inspiring. Their dedication and generosity embody the very best of our community spirit, and their positive impact on Hamilton and its people, across a myriad of fields, is significant. I thank them warmly for the countless hours they have devoted in service to others.”

The 2025 Civic Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Monday 17 November, in the Central Court Pavilion at Hamilton Gardens.

Hamilton City Council Civic Award nominations are now open year-round. If someone has made a real difference in your life or in the lives of others, please consider nominating them.
