A low-lying section of the river path network just north of the central business district will be closed for half a day today (20 March 2019) to allow for remedial work.
The section is prone to flooding when the river is at its highest levels, and subsidence is becoming an issue.
The closure of the path and the adjacent green space is for safety reasons, as a truck will be used.
The job is to stabilise the bank and work is expected to last about half a day.
Path users will need to detour via Awatere Ave.
