Horsham Downs Rd will close to through traffic at 6am on Tuesday 9 October 2018 for bridge construction. The new bridge will take Horsham Downs Rd over the expressway.

The closure has been timed to coincide with the reopening of Kay Rd, to ensure motorists have an alternative route in and out of the city.

Excavation and construction will take up to 14 months. The road will reopen in late 2019.

The illustration at right shows the closure location, north of the Borman Rd intersection (near the old chocolate factory).

During the closure, access to properties along Horsham Downs Rd will be maintained at all times, but there will be no vehicle or pedestrian access through the bridge site.
