This page has information on events, projects and major works requiring lane or road closures in Hamilton Kirikiriroa.
Road users are encouraged to use alternate routes where possible and we’ll do our best to keep any delays to a minimum. Traffic management may be in place to make sure road users, including people on bikes and pedestrians, can navigate these areas safely while work is underway. Works and dates are subject to change based on factors such as wet weather and staff availability.
Residents, pedestrians and people on bikes will continue to have access unless specified below.

Heaphy Terrace – road closure
Heaphy Terrace (from Piako Road to Brooklyn Road) will be closed Tuesday 27 January from 7.30pm – 10.30pm for the Jimmy Carr show.

The below streets will be closed for one or two nights between Tuesday 27 January and Friday 30 January for road resealing.

Glenmorgan Place – lane closure
The entry lane of Glenmorgan Place will be closed from Tuesday 27 January to Thursday 19 February from 7am – 6pm, for road repairs.
Ongoing works/delays
Boundary Road – road closure
Boundary Road (from Heaphy Terrace to Victoria Street) remains closed until early February for road reconstruction. The westbound lane (from Heaphy Terrace) will be closed from 6am – 7pm and a full road closure from 7pm – 6am.
Heaphy Terrace – road closure
Heaphy Terrace (from Boundary Road to Marshall Street) remains closed until Thursday 29 January from 8pm – 6am, for water renewal work.
Edgecumbe Street – lane closure
The eastbound lane of Edgecumbe Street (from Dyer Street to Victoria Street) remains closed until Friday 13 March from 7am – 6pm, for a wastewater upgrade.
Grey Street – lane closure
The northbound lane of Grey Street (from Anzac Parade to Te Aroha Street) remains closed at various times until June from 8pm – 5am, for a watermain upgrade.
Hukanui Road and Comries Road – delays
Traffic delays are expected at the Hukanui Road and Comries Road intersection from Monday 26 January until the end of February.
Te Rapa Road and Garnett Avenue intersection – delays
Traffic delays are expected at the Te Rapa Road and Garnett Avenue intersection until mid-March from 7pm – 6am, for a watermain upgrade.
